In order to recover, we have to learn how to accept and love ourselves.
It may be hard to love ourselves, and it may prove even more difficult to love those who have hurt us. But, our recovery process becomes smoother as we are able to increase the love we have for ourselves and others.
When we attempt to do this, we make time to love and accept our own process, and we can view it with understanding. This kind of love does not come easy; it is one of the most difficult to practice. However, when done right, it can be life changing!
First, in this video I discuss getting a new perspective: Taking on this new perspective brings understanding for the both of you.
Second, I briefly discuss the need for setting boundaries: in respect for yourself and for others in order to love.
Next, I discuss taking responsibility: for your feelings and actions and coming to acceptance for that.
Lastly, I discuss the true value of love: its role in recovery, and how to find other sources of support and love for yourself.
