Video: The Importance of Having a Creative Outlet

Support our Nonprofit Magazine!

Before you start reading... There has never been a time when our community and content was needed more. Unlike other sites, we don't publish sponsored content or share affiliate links. We also don’t run ads on our site and don’t have any paywalls in front of our content–-anyone can access all of it for free.

This means we rely on donations from our community (people like YOU!) to keep our site running. We want to be here to support you all through this pandemic and beyond, which is why we are asking you to consider donating whatever you are able.

A single (or monthly) donation of just $5 will make a HUGE difference and will help keep our nonprofit running so we can continue offering peer support for mental health through our content.

In this video I talk about the importance of having a creative outlet while you are in recovery. Below the video you will find a list of some things I like to do to keep my creativity flowing – I recommend you make a list for yourself, and don’t be afraid to try something new! And don’t forget – golf doesn’t count!

  • Painting my nails
  • Makeup application (no – applying mascara while in the car rushing to work/class doesn’t count!)

  • Interior decorating (some people do redecorate their room/house ALL the time!)
  • Cake decorating etc…
  • Drawing/Painting
  • Writing music

  • I love this Video Lauren 🙂 I think that for me, my creative outlets are photography, and working on cars. Now working on cars doesn't seem like a CREATIVE outlet, but I think it is! Fixing problems and creating something cool is something I really feel creative doing 🙂
