Recovery requires a lot of commitment and a lot of work. As we progress in our recovery and begin engaging in ‘normal’ life again, it is common to allow other things to take priority and to put your recovery on the back burner; however, this is not the best approach. No matter how far along you are in recovery, you still need to prioritize it because it’s about your health. And sometimes you will have rough days (or even weeks) and it’s OK to be selfish at those times – even if those around you disagree. Are you putting your recovery first? I promise it will be worth it in the end!
