Author - Jameela Jamil (The Good Place) Speaks Out Against Diet/Detox Drinks

Recently, actress Jameela Jamil from "The Good Place" spoke out on Twitter against weightloss, diet, and detox teas and shakes and the celebrities and influencers who profit from promoting them (including Cardi B and the Kardashians).

At the same time, Jameela opened out about her own past struggles with an eating disorder and encouraged others to think twice (and consult real medical professionals) before taking advice from those who profit from promoting these harmful products.

Here's what she had to say:

She also shared a tweet from a medical doctor who has treated patients after they've taken these products:

And, for those who want a laugh, she made this parody detox shake promotional video:

In addition, YouTube star and news show host Philip DeFranco covered the story and shared his own thoughts on the issue in his November 27th video:

We thank and applaud Jameela, Philip DeFranco, and others for speaking out against these dangerous products and for standing up against those who try to profit from their sales.
